There is no doubt that the past few months have been a roller coaster ride for many in the community and in the world at large. We have been in prayerful reflection during this time. We are thankful and beyond blessed to be surrounded by supporters and volunteers who pray and give and share in the ministry to orphans at My Father’s Arrows.
The months of closure have certainly taken a financial toll, and our little thrift store has struggled. Concerns about being able to re-open safely and successfully have led us to the difficult realization that retail business is no longer the best support for our mission. In staying wholly committed to our mission, we have decided that we will not be reopening our MFA Thrift Store.
Our mission at My Father’s Arrows is strong: To provide a safe and loving home for children in need and to support the foster and adoptive community.
Our priority will always be the children. We will continue to provide tangible resources and support to foster and adoptive families and teens aging out of foster care. We will continue to educate the community and inspire others to get involved in orphan care. We will continue to provide a home for children who do not have one.
We will be accepting donated items of clothing, food, equipment, and supplies for the infants, children, and teens that we serve at our children’s home in Jay and foster children throughout the local area. We are also expanding our accessibility by adding an additional outreach office at Crown Church in Pensacola, and we will continue to serve from our office in Jay.
We realize this may be sad news for many who loved shopping at the MFA Thrift store, and we want to thank you for your support, your generosity, and all the love we have felt from the community for the past few years.
This time has been a challenge for the community, but we are reminded of God’s word in Romans when Paul writes,
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
My Father’s Arrows’ purpose is to serve the orphan. With God’s blessing and the continued gracious support of our community, we will faithfully serve the orphan to God’s glory.
Hope to the hopeless. Care to the lonely. Compassion to the broken. Love to the invisible.
